ABOUT FIONA
(SHE/THEY)
Kindness, compassion, empathy, and a non‑judgmental approach are among Fiona’s core strengths as a dedicated therapist. She values building meaningful relationships and offering thoughtful, ongoing support to individuals and couples, striving to recognize and honor the humanity in every client.
Fiona specializes in concerns around emotional intimacy, sexuality, neurodiversity, gender and sexual identity. She warmly welcomes and celebrates the diversity of sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions of sexuality.
Her particular areas of interest include out‑of‑control and compulsive sexual behaviors, men’s issues, neurodiversity in relationships, mixed‑orientation relationships, open relationships, and work with people involved in the sex industry. To deepen her clinical expertise, Fiona has completed additional specialized training in these areas and has met the requirements to apply for certification as a sex therapist.
When working together, Fiona emphasizes open communication, collaboration, and clarifying goals and expectations for the therapeutic process from the start. She believes the foundation of secure, functional relationships rests on five key elements: structure, connection, engagement, challenge, and humor. In sessions, Fiona models these elements to create a safe, supportive environment for growth.
Identifying as a Person of Color, neurodiverse, and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Fiona is committed to serving marginalized and underrepresented populations. She is particularly drawn to therapeutic models grounded in anti-oppressive principles and liberation-focused approaches, aiming to create space for healing, empowerment, and culturally responsive care.
Fiona is trained in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) and RLT (Relational Life Therapy). She also uses Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) for individuals and couples, showing her openness to new treatment methods. Fiona is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) who mentors and supports both Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidates.
On a personal note, Fiona enjoys traveling to new places, cooking, and spending time with her life partner, their three children, and their dogs. She is currently in the process of moving her family abroad. Fiona firmly believes in the importance of engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment, and she encourages each of her clients to identify and nurture the things that bring happiness and meaning to their own lives.
